Hello there, how’s your weekend? How’s the weather in China? We’ve had a very beautiful weekend here in London, lots of sunshine.幽幽兰I think English is very useful, and I want to pass the Public English Band Four, but I don't know how to improve my English in four months .I am very worry about this, Can you help me? Thank you! Band Four exam has been a long-lasting topic notonly for you but also for me. I remembered the time when I had to take the TEM 4 (Test for English Majors 4 英语专业四级考试) and TEM 8 (Test for English Majors 8 英语专业八级考试) ,it was very nerve-racking 使人精神紧张的!Now to be extremely positive about your Band Four exam, what you need to do during the next four months is to just get on with it. As we all know, to learn a language takes more than just four months of hard work, it’s a continuing slow process which might seem endless 无止境的 at times. My suggestion for those of you who are taking the exam is that – firstly, read the exam outline 大纲 handbook 手册 carefully. It’s always good to know what and how you are going to be tested; secondly, work on the parts that you are not confident with, for example, listening, reading comprehension 阅读理解,and writing. Set a goal 制定目标 for yourself and stick to it 坚持下去;thirdly, never forget to SPEAK English! We don’t just learn English to pass exams, but to talk to people from different places, to learn their culture, to bring us all closer. My personal experience is that the more you speak a language, the easier it is for you to pass the exams, because you are more likely to develop what I call it ‘the language sense’ 语感。Language sense can be very helpful to your listening and grammar. Imagine I ask you a Chinese grammar question, you might not know why we speak in certain ways, but you know what the correct answer is, same goes for the English speakers. We have all been through this and just make sure you don’t get too worried. Just follow the outline handbook, work on your weak parts and don’t forget to practise speaking! Please do share your experience on preparing for Band Four Exam here with us.If you have any other questions on English, please leave me a messages. Good luck!Best wishes, |
